If you have taught online before you are ready to explore new approaches and strategies, Level Two is your starting place. Participants review the latest research about what works in online environments, learn new ways for students to collaborate online, create new resources with media tools, explore new ways to facilitate and create assessments and experience a variety of communication tools from the viewpoint of a student.

Learning Outcomes

After the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply one or more online learning theories based on the latest pedagogical research.
  2. Discover a variety of online group tools through active collaboration both asynchronous and synchronous options.
  3. Create one or more media resources using a variety of online tools for your online course.
  4. Develop assessments that provide students detailed feedback.
  5. Experience various online classroom tools from a student perspective. 
  6. Integrate the principles of Universal Design of Learning throughout your online course.
  7. Discover new feedback strategies various online tools.

Please plan to log into the course and your development site each week for 2-3 hours a week. New modules will be available every Monday morning. If you need additional assistance after the course ends to complete your course development, assistance will be provided.

Who should register

Ideal for instructors who have taught online before and are comfortable with Canvas, but want to do more with their online courses!

Registration is limited to the first 25 people who register. Additional sections will be added as needed.
