Frequently Asked Questions

How do I earn a badge?

Badges are earned by submitting evidence of the impact of development on your contributions to the various learning environments that comprise UNCG. Every badge serves as a link to that evidence, which shows the world that you are competent and always developing (and more than just a pretty face)!

What evidence do I submit?

Usually, the evidence will be noted as part of the badge, or it will be made clear during the awarding event or program.

For example, Online Learning Level One includes the production of an alignment chart, which evidences your completion of the course.

However, in some ways, it is up to you. There is a wide variety of artifacts that count as evidence, so some events and programs will be open for you to choose how to share the evidence of their impact on your learning environments.

For example, a workshop without an explicit product would allow you to share a new video for your online course or document a new assignment in your course syllabus. In these cases, the world is your oyster!

How do I submit evidence?

In some cases, you won’t need to, as it will be built into the program.

However, if that is not the case, then you can submit your evidence via email at tio@uncg.edu.

I thought I earned a badge, but I cannot find it! Where is it?

There are a few possible reasons for that:

We may still be waiting to review your evidence, or we may be behind on awarding badges.

If we have awarded the badge and you still cannot see it, then you may need help navigating your Badgr Backpack. Click here for help from Badgr on Using the Badgr Backpack.

Either way, feel free to reach out to us at tio@uncg.edu for help as well.

What is a Badgr?

Badgr is the service that the UTLC uses to develop and distribute badges. As soon as you are awarded your first badge, a Badgr account will be created for you that recognizes your UNCG credentials through a Google Sign-in.

Log in at uncg.badgr.io in order to view your account and Badgr Backpack. (Make sure that you choose to Sign in with Google.)

If you are interested in using badges for your own purposes, feel free to reach out to us at tio@uncg.edu if you have questions about using Badgr!

How do I share badges?

All awarded badges in your backpack will have the Share and Share Badge options. You can use these to quickly share your badges directly to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn, and you can also copy the direct link to share the badge anywhere you would like!
