Advancement of Teaching & Learning Grants

**2020-2021 ATL Grants will not be available until August.

Please use the INFOReady form to request an Advancement of Teaching & Learning Grant (ATL) from the UTLC. These Grants are awarded on a rolling-basis until funding for the academic year has been depleted. For all travel related Grants, faculty proposers are required to have supporting funds from their home department.

Faculty can receive up to two (2) grants per a year (with only one travel grant per a semester). Grants must be for two (2) different projects.

 

  • Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (implementation and/or research, $300)

    UNCG and the UTLC are dedicated to the development of inclusive and equitable learning experiences. The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Grant is open to all UNCG faculty and can be used to research, develop, and implement strategies for supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion at UNCG. Faculty receiving this category of grant will be asked to document their work and share it in UTLC workshops, blog, or podcast. (Total for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Category Grant: $300)

  • Innovative Teaching Strategies (research and implementation, $300)

    Innovative Teaching Category grants can be used to purchase innovative teaching materials, teaching resources and reference materials, or any innovative need that promotes teaching on campus. Faculty are eligible for the Innovative Teaching Category grant if they are exploring new, or new to UNCG, teaching strategies or pedagogies with the intent of sharing that experience with the broader campus. Faculty receiving this category of grant will be asked to document their work and share it in UTLC workshops, blog, or podcast. (Total for each Innovative Teaching Category Grant: $300)

  • SoTL – Scholarship of Teaching & Learning ($300):

    SoTL Category grants can be used for research purposes that aim to cultivate and expand the field of teaching and learning. Faculty are eligible for SoTL Category grants if they are conducting research in the area of teaching and learning.  Faculty receiving this category of grant will be asked to document their work and share it in UTLC workshops, blogs, or podcasts. Faculty using the grants for travel must have the support of their home unit. (Total for each SoTL Category Grant: $300)

  • Technology Enhanced Pedagogy (purchase and implementation, $300)

    TEP Category grants can be used to purchase innovative technology to enhance teaching practice on campus. Faculty are eligible for the TEP Category grants if they are acquiring new technology to deploy in their classroom with the intent of sharing that experience with the broader campus. Faculty applying for this grant will need to schedule a consultation (click here) with the UTLC and ITS to ensure that the technology meets University guidelines on usage. Faculty receiving this category of grant will be asked to document their work and share it in UTLC workshops, blog, or podcast. (Total for each TEP Category Grant: $250)
